Happy October everyone! Thanks for dropping by my blog today.
It’s nearing the end of the year and we are all thinking about treats – maybe for the end of the school year or different festivities.
This month the Stamping Society team are featuring projects around the theme of small treats. I had the idea in my head of creating a ‘small gift’ which turned out to be a small gift box of note cards. We have some adorable packaging projects in our Stampin’ Up! range and they work so beautifully with notecards. I have made adorable 3×3″ notecards – which work perfectly with the 3×3″ envelopes that we stock.
These adorable scalloped kraft gift boxes fit these perfectly and you can fit anywhere between 10-15 notecards and envelopes inside.
So join us this month as we are featuring a load of fun projects!

Let’s have a look at todays’ fun project…
Here is a look at my finished ‘gift box’.
I used the Splendid Day suite as a basis for creating my project which features the most adorable colours. Here is a look at the colour theme that I chose for my project design:
To create a fun little accent for the outside of my box, I tied a fun bow with the coordinating Soft Sea Foam seam binding ribbon and die cut a tag from the Tailor Made Tag dies from some Soft Sea Foam cardstock. I have lightly stamped this in Soft Sea Foam ink from the coordinating Splendid Day stamps. I accented the tag with a die cut from the Splendid Stems Dies cut in Gold Glimmer and added some Brushed Brass Butterflies and one of the Open Leaf Trinkets.
All of the note cards inside feature the same “Sending Hugs” sentiment, so i also added this to the tag to create a bit of a theme.
Here is a look at one of the finished notecards.
Each notecard has the same design, but this shows one of the notecards in close detail.
I have watercolored the background in Pool Party ink on some Shimmery White Cardstock.
I did heat emboss the beautiful stem image in gold and have watercolored the stems (this one in Fresh Freesia), but the notecards are made up of a variety of; Fresh Freesia, Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam watercoloring.
Each notecard has a beautiful large die cut leaf cut from the Glimmer Speciality Paper and in gold.
I have accented each card with some of the For Everything Fancy Sequins in pink and some Brushed Brass Butterflies.
Here is a look at the three varieties of notecards together. I love these three colours together.
This shows all the notecards together. They really do make an adorable set of cards to give as a gift to somebody that they can use as a beautiful keepsake or to pass on top someone special (they can even use the gift box!)
I have used the Splendid Dad Designer Series Paper to add some fun added design to the back of each of the envelopes to make them match the notecards which was a bit of fun. It’s also a great way to really use your Designer Series Paper!
I had so much fun making this project!
