I have almost come to the end of my sharing of my projects from the amazing Online Stamping Retreat. I just have one more to go.
Today’s card was from the fabulous no other than Lisa Curcio herself. What an amazing lady.
You can see her beautiful work over on her website here.
I know that I have said it many times but seriously be sure to go and head over to the Online Stamping Retreat website and sign up to those newsletters so that you don’t miss out on the next retreat. They are amazing!
I will admit that with this card I actually stayed to the products used because I had not inked up my Sweet Songbirds bundle *gasp!* so I stuck to plan and used it and I am so glad! What cute little birdies and what a cute little fun fold this one is!
Here is a look at my finished card. This fold is called the Faux Double Step Card and it’s so much fun.
These fun folds that Kylie, Bruno, Lisa and Gina come up with are fab!
I love the two step idea!
I love that with this bundle it comes with a little song bird punch. Punches are great for a quick, simple and easy card – no dies required. They are great for quick & simple cards or great for the beginner – as you don’t need many supplies!
I used an interesting colour combo for this one…
I have to admit, this is one of the first times that I have used Orchid Oasis! I have never liked it. I am not sure what it is. I couldn’t decide if I thought it was more blue or purple!
Some colours just don’t sit with me and I couldn’t decide with Orchid.
I am glad I used it here though and I really like the combo here and the combo of the two birds!
Here is a close up look of my finished card.
I love the little planks of ‘wood’ to create a little fence for the bird to sit on. What a great idea *not my idea by the way*
I have splattered some Smoky Slate ink over the background and embellishment with my favourite Linen Thread and embellished with the Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins.
I just loved the simplicity of this card. So much fun to make!
Here is a look at the back of the card where I have added space for some sentiments and some space to write a message to the recipient. I added a little bit of ink blending with a Blending Brush also to soften the stark white against the cardstock. I think it helped to soften it just a little bit.
Here is a side on look at the finished card where you can see the fun dimension of this fold. It sits up like a little step. So cute!
I hope that you enjoyed today’s project share and got some inspiration.
Be sure to check below where I have included a full supply list, all of which are available in my store here.
Until next time,
Crafty hugs. xx
