Hello everyone…welcome to September!
This month at Stamping Society we are featuring all things seasonal!
Here in Australia September is the first month of Spring! I am glad to be seeing off Winter as I will say – we have had one of the wettest and rainiest winters I can remember in a long time.
However – my favourite season? It’s actually Autumn! So I have featured a card in my tutorial (see below) that is actually in love with my favourite month – but my blog hop card is a card that shows my love of Spring. I have chosen to feature a stamp set/bundle that you can use for ANY season that was released with the Annual Catalogue – the Beauty of Friendship bundle. In fact I have used the whole suite including the Designer Series Paper!
So join us this month as we are featuring a load of seasonal projects!
And scroll down to see more about the tutorial that you can either PURCHASE or earn for FREE, with six more tutorials with videos making six more seasonal projects!
What is Stamping Society?
It’s a monthly tutorial bundle from six different designers all over the world and each month we do a blog hop featuring a certain theme or product and then put together a tutorial and video which you can either purchase, earn for free on our teams or earn for FREE as one of our customers.
See the bottom of this post for more information on that.
The lovely designers on the team are:
Martin Stone: UK
Ashley Fifer: Canada
Angela Meiritz-Reid: New Zealand
Charlet Mallett: USA
Danielle Bennenk: Netherlands
Let’s have a look at todays’ fun project…
Here’s a look at the finished card.
I paired this fun bundle with the super versatile and handy Basic Borders dies to create these super fun ‘rolling hills’ on my card. This is a super easy effect to achieve. I simply cut a duplicate piece the same size as my card front and placed this in my Stampin’ Cut N’ Emboss Machine with the Borders Die and cut three pieces with the hills, changing where I placed the die for three variations.
I then staggered these down the bottom edge of my front layer and applied the last one on Stampin’ Dimensionals and tucked my tree underneath this for a fun look.
I did colour my hills using a Blending Brush and some Granny Apple Green Ink for a fun ‘grass’ look.
The ‘sky’ is really simple using one of the patterns from the Beauty of The Earth Designer Series Paper!
The fun trees was created using the Beauty of Friendship dies. I cut the trunk from some Crumb Cake Cardstock and the ‘bushy’ part of the tree I cut with the In Colour Shimmer Vellum in Polished Pink for a fun ‘spring look’ tree.
I have accented the card with a bow tied with the Simply Elegant Trim, some Brushed Metallic Dots in Gold and some of the Ephemera pieces from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack and some of the Sequins.
I did heat emboss a sentiment in white on some Basic Black Cardstock and adhered this to the card with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I have kept the inside of the card pretty simple with layers of Pool Party and Basic White, a strip of the Designer Series Paper and a strip of the Shimmer Vellum. I stamped a sentiment in Memento Black and added another piece of the Expressions in Ink Ephemera.
I hope you got some inspiration and enjoyment out of today’s card share.
