Making a card with almost no stamps? Say what now? Can you believe that this card only has a stamped sentiment? Crazy!
I love that the Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper is so awesome and allows the creativity to make a beautiful card just as it is. Using Designer Series Papers as the basis for a card design is not only super easy, great for a beginner but also budget friendly as it uses very minimal supplies. In my opinion that can tick a lot of boxes!
When I saw this beautiful Les Shoppes suite released in the latest Annual Catalogue I fell in love. The beautiful little shops, sweet little paths and beautiful little street accessories had me swooning. I love that you can build a shop, a street or a whole town! The possibilities are endless.
You can purchase the stamps, the dies, the bundle or even just the Designer Series Paper!
The dies that coordinate even coordinate with some of the Designer Series Paper to cut out those cute little images that you see here!
There are so many different options with Designer Series Paper and looking at the designs and motifs in different ways to see how you could look at using Designer Series Papers to create cards without the need for an exorbitant amount of stamping supplies.
This card example is a great one to see how you can use minimal supplies to make a card. Be sure to check out the link below where you can see the live replay of me making this card from my Facebook Live earlier this week.
hello – the finished les shoppes card
Here is a look at the finished card. I just love how this little street of shops turned out!
The little shops all feature different designs and include shops from art stores to; sushi shops, clothing stores, beauty parlours, plant stores, book shops, restaurants, bakeries and more.
On my card I chose to feature the cute little art store, restaurant and clothing store. There was no wastage on this card – as the little clothing store to the left was actually an off cut to the edge of the Designer Series Paper! Never throw anything out – there is always a use!
My initial inspiration for this card was actually the colour palette – I feel like that is often the first point of call on my cards and I was just particularly drawn to the idea of creating a pink/yellow sky line.
a little look at the colour inspiration
Now just a heads up … this is not ALL the colours I have used but really an overlook at the main colours. I love the Designer Series Paper that is included in the suite and the range of the colours included.
In fact here are the coordinating and included colours in the Designer Series Paper:
Product colours: Balmy Blue, Basic Black, Cajun Craze, Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Misty Moonlight, Night of Navy, Pecan Pie, Petal Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Shaded Spruce
My background that I coloured with Blending Brushes I have used a combination of; Bubble Bath, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lolly – I did add Bubble Bath and Lemon Lolly in because they are not listed as coordinating colours in this suite but I really wanted them in my little scene and I love how it turned out!

close up look at the finished card
Although my focus was on using Designer Series Papers I did incorporate a couple of the coordinating dies to cut out a couple of these elements. If you were recreating this projects however – these elements could be replaced or entirely left off. However I chose to use them as I just loved the coordinating dies and the extra touch of pizzazz that they gave the card!
I added the beautiful little greenery created with the dies in a beautiful Shaded Spruce colour and added this to the top of my art store.
I also added a beautiful street lamp in some Basic Black. These are so adorable!
P.S. Isn’t that Designer Series Paper with the Smoky Slate cobble stone just perfect as a path to place these little shops on? Stampin’ Up! think of everything!
Lastly I embellished with some of the Loose Silver Sequins. These coordinate with this suite and are just perfect!
A little look at the inside of the card
A little look at the inside of my card where I have used some of the left over Designer Series Paper pieces that I decided not to use on the card front.
I also used a Blending Brush to add some more of the Lemon Lolly and Daffodil Delight ink to the inside of my card.
I was all about using Designer Series Papers on this card so continued the design right through and added some more of that gorgeous Smoky Slate Designer Series Paper to the inside.
Overall I love how this fun card came together and really enjoyed crafting live again with everyone on my Facebook page. I had a blast!
