Welcome Easter ~ Surprise Window Card ~ Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop

Hello lovely blog readers and welcome back to another post and another blog hop that I am participating in.

I am really excited to be part of the fun Stampin’ Dreams Team and this month we are focusing on sharing some gorgeous Easter projects, as Easter is fast approaching!

I will admit that I am a bit of a shocker for making or sending Easter cards, as traditionally in our family we have only ever purchased Easter chocolate for the kiddies. 

This year I pushed myself outside my limits though and considering Stampin’ Up! have some really gorgeous stamp sets that work so well for Easter, I thought why not?

Today’s project was actually inspired by the lovely Jennifer McGuire. 

She posted a video on her YouTube channel that featured some surprise window cards and I was really inspired to create one.

Here’s a look at the finished card.

I decided to go with a Pretty Peacock card base (we all know I love peacocks…and I love the colour just as much!).

I have used the beautiful Welcome Easter Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up! and focused on that GORGEOUS bunny as my focal image.

As you will see from the following images, I have made him my focal point underneath my circle, and then have surrounded him with the coordinating flower and leaves stamps from the set. 

I have used the super versatile and must have Layering Circles Framelits Dies to create a Gold Glimmer circle frame for the outside card front. This really helps to frame that focal image and make it stand out.

I have used the Welcome Easter Stamp Set once again for my “Happy Easter” sentiment and heat embossed this in white on some Basic Black Cardstock.

Here’s a close up of the finished card where you can see all the texture and detail.

I have chosen to embellish with one of the gorgeous Best Dressed Tassels in Pretty Peacock…because you know..well it’s peacock!

I have added some Linen Thread in a bow in addition to my tassel and to finish up I have added some of the beautiful In Color Faceted Dots, once again in Pretty Peacock!

Here’s a look at my ‘SURPRISE’ underneath my window, where you can then see that the bunny is actually surrounded in fun flowers and leaves.

I have coloured all of these images in with a mixture of; Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. 

The little bunny is coloured in with some Smoky Slate and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. 

I have also added some Wink of Stella touches to my bunny to make him sparkle and shine!

Here’s a look at my card inner where you can see that I have kept it pretty simple and added a simple sentiment to coordinate with the Easter sentiment on the card front.

I have also once again stamped the little bunny and coloured him exactly the same as I did in the surprise window.
