Happy Friday everyone!
I am so excited to be joining in another Global Stampin’ Video Hop for another month and this month we are all featuring FUN folds – it really sums it up when you call them fun folds because they really are fun. They are fun to receive, fun to make and fun to learn how to make. I decided to keep mine simple and revisit an oldie this month because I was inspired by the brand new hot off the press Winter Owls Bundle and All About Autumn Suite and I really really wanted to focus on this beautiful photo realistic scene of this Autumn Designer Series Paper. To do this I created a simple Z Fold Card which meant that I could keep the whole scene as one piece and have it fold out into a larger design with a space for a message.

my finished z fold card – time to enjoy the quiet moments
Here is a look at my finished Z Fold Card. That gorgeous Autumn scene Designer Series Paper is just divine and really makes this card shine! The whole inspiration for the card came from the idea of wanting to showcase this beautiful big owl flying through the Autumn scene. The Winter Owl bundle includes beautiful dies that allow you to create this big regal owl seperate from the stamps, it really is pretty cool!
I combined the sentiment from the Winter Owl bundle while also using some die cut leaves from the Autumn Leaves bundle which I have cut in Crumb Cake and softly blended some Copper Clay ink over the top with a Blending Brush. I love the really beautiful warm feel that this gave the leaves. The Copper Clay also coordinates with the Designer Series Paper perfectly.

Here are two close up views of the finished card where you can see some of the texture and detail.
There is a beautiful embossing folder that coordinates with the All About Autumn Suite named the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder and I have used this on one of the Crumb Cake layer pieces behind my focal point on the card front. It may be subtle but adds a beautiful texture.
On the video tutorial of how I made this card, I also have shown how adding a light brush of some Whisper White Craft Ink pad over the top of the embossed cardstock really helps to accentuate some of the detail of the embossing.

Here is a look at how the Z fold card works and how it folds out.
I chose to use one of the coordinating speciality Designer Series Paper designs to add to the middle two panels of my design. You could also leave one of these panels blank if you had a Basic White Card or you could simply add a layer of Basic White. I really enjoyed however adding some more pattern and design! It gave me another reason to use the brilliant Deckled Rectangle Dies which are a great staple to have in your stash!
I added some stamping to the deckled rectangle layer with one of the stamps from the Winter Owls Stamp Set using some Moody Mauve Ink and then added a sentiment stamped in black.
If you need some more space to write, you could also add another panel to the left.

To really make the beautiful big owl stand out, I took a Sponge Dauber and lightly added some Crumb Cake around the edges of the Basic White owl. I added some Wink of Stella over the entire owl. My wings were cut in Gold Foil.
P.S. Did you see that frayed ribbon behind the owl? That is possibly my new favourite ribbon! I love to fray ribbon and I will continue to say that over and over again. Give me texture and anything tactile any day. This beautiful ribbon is so easy to fray and so beautiful on projects.
