Hi everyone and welcome back to my blog, or hello if you have never visited before.
You are visited Kayla’s blog and I am a member of the Crazy Crafters.
We are blog hopping today as part of the Aim for Alaska training group.
This group is a fantastic resource for Stampin’ Up demonstrators to not only encourage them to achieve the incentive trip (which is currently an Alaskan cruise) but also to reach any Stampin’ Up goals they may have.
We have had talks from some of the #1 demonstrators in the world about what makes their businesses so successful. I am absolutely loving the group because I am learning from the very best and also am involved in a community where we can bounce ideas off each other, there is always someone online and around to help!
It can be frightening starting your own small business but with a supportive and friendly group like Aim for Alaska you learn that fear can sometimes be a good thing because if you aren’t worried and you aren’t on the edge of your seat than that means you are too comfortable 😉
It’s an amazing resource and today we are hopping with an Alaskan theme!
I will admit that I had a bit of trouble with the theme.
Let’s just say, I’m not very geographic! I need to learn to be.
So I did not really know much about Alaska *what you say!!*
So I did a quick Pinterest (as you do!) and what I first saw was something that I just LOVE and that is the Northern lights (or Aurora Borealis)
I was inspired to create a card with this in mind with that gorgeous HIGH TIDE stamp set.
I am not 100% happy with the card design. I love the sponging, but unfortunately the card came together last minute in between some ‘Mum’ things like cooking dinner, taking the neighbour to hospital, kissing boo-boo’s (oh the life of a mum) and I just haven’t had time to make another, so please excuse 😉
Here’s the picture that I was inspired by
As you can see mine looks no where near as pretty.
I am relatively new to this whole sponging thing, but I gave it a good go and there is always a first time for everything!
I absolutely love how that copper thread looks wound around the card though.
I think that is going to be my new obsession, so you might see that hang around for a while.
I have used my trusty favourite Stitched Shapes Framelits to frame this gorgeous sentiment, which has to be my absolute current favourite from the stamp set!
Lastly I have stamped the inside of the card to give a quick bit of jazz to finish it off!
I am so excited to have been able to take part in the hop.
