Hello lovely crafty friends. I have had a crazy week with LOTS happening from the opening of my new website for crafty classes (The Stamping Lounge) with my friends Maheswari and Rochelle, to chronic migraines that had me in bed for a few days and then lots of prep for some upcoming exciting things! The Be Inspired Taking Flight themed blog hope tonight however made me want to pop by and share what I made for the blog hop for the month because I had ideas stuck in my head that needed to come out onto some cards!
I can’t wait to see what the rest of the team have come up with for this theme because it is always such a fun experience to see how each person has interpreted a theme.
If you want to check out what the rest of the team have created, scroll down to the end where I have a blog list. P.s. Sorry for the slightly bad projects photos – we are heading into Spring here where I live and it’s always the time of year we get the craziest weather from rain storms, hail, snow, frost – and dark cloudy days. Ugh!

my finished card for the be inspired taking flight theme

Here is a look at my finished card featuring the Adventurous Sky bundle. I had so many ideas in my head for this theme but thus…this one won!
The look of a vintage plane flying over a very watercoloured/artistic interpretation of the world was my idea for this card and inspiration. I don’t think I have actually played with the Watercolor World stamp yet which was crazy – so I was very excited to give this a go!!
It is messy, colourful and free flowing – but sometimes it is nice to play with things like that because it gets me outside of my ‘creative square’ of perfect measurements, alignment and placement.
a look at the details & watercolour

I love how the watercolour really spread over my Fluid 100 layer – so it’s a very ‘free flowing’ version of a world map – definitely don’t use it for geographical purposes – haha! However, just to the right of the sentiment on that little dot – that’s where I live 😉 just a little island…blink and you will miss!
I chose to accent my card with the Ombre Matte Dots so that I could use a variety of different shades of blue which somewhat represents the watercoloured look in my map where I have used several shades of blue.
Lastly I added some of the gorgeous Night of Navy Linen Thread from the upcoming Mini Catalogue. This thread will be available from September 4th!
a look at the inside

I added a simple matted layer to the inside with some dark/light blue blending in the bottom right and a simple Night of Navy stamped plane. This ties the card together whilst adding a little bit of an accent to the inside.
