Happy Monday everyone, it’s sure to be another beautiful week and another fun Global Design Project challenge.. It’s time for another CASE the designer challenge and I am so thrilled to be the feature this week. On my last post I spoke about the benefits of CASE’ing the catalogue when you are in a creative slump. Another great way to get creativity flowing is to go back through your own projects and CASE your own cards. Scroll through your own designs and CASE the whole layout, the elements that you love the most, or the technique that you used or perhaps even the colour palette. This is a great way to give cards that you created a fresh look and a new breath of life.
Why not CASE your own cards and show them some love, after all – we all have a style and our style is ours for a reason, it’s because we love it, it reflects who we are/our personality.
case – what does it mean anyway?
CASE, also known as Copy And Selectively Edit, is a popular technique used in the crafting community, specifically in the realm of handmade cards. It involves finding inspiration from existing projects or designs and recreating them with personal modifications. When you CASE a handmade card, you study the original design, taking note of its elements such as layout, colour scheme, techniques, and embellishments. However, instead of outright copying the project, you add your own creative spin by selectively editing certain aspects. This could include changing the colour palette, altering the sentiment, incorporating different embellishments, or adjusting the overall design to suit your preferences or the occasion. CASE-ing is a way to spark creativity, learn new techniques, and pay homage to the work of other artists by putting your unique stamp on their inspiring creations.
the global design project challenge #gdp416
It is so exciting to be the designer that was chosen to be the feature of the CASE the designer this challenge. When it comes to CASE your own cards it’s fine but on a public scale, that’s when it gets scary. HAHA!I am so excited however to see what everyone comes up with! I can’t wait to hop around and see how everyone chooses to interpret the card and what they design.

the finished card
Here is a look at my finished card. When I saw the card of mine that was chosen to be the CASE the Designer project – I immediately thought of the new die from the Meandering Meadows suite and the beautiful stitched detailing. It reminded me of the beautiful stitching on the Radiating Stitches Dies which I have featured on my original card – plus a good excuse to use the new stuff *wink*
Combined with some of the gorgeous new Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper featured in the background which features this beautiful design that reminds me of a stunning cloudy day!
I chose to ‘CASE’ the main ‘layout’ with my ‘stitched’ die and the basic elements featured on the original card such as the Designer Series Paper background and and placement of the heat embossed sentiment.

a close up look at the details…
Here is a close up look at some of the detail and texture featured in the finished card. I just love the beautiful Designer Series Paper in this new collection which will be available to customers on the 6th of November. The colours and designs are magnificent.
The beautiful stamps and coordinating dies left me able to colour these stunning designs in coordinating colours with my Stampin’ Blends. I cut some beautiful grass from the Designer Series Paper which I have added some Shaded Spruce with a Blending Brush to make it even more dimensional. This allowed me to add my wheelbarrow and fence ‘tucked’ in like a little ‘scene’.
Finally I have embellished with some of the gorgeous coordinating Adhesive Backed Dragonflies & Birds – these are so beautiful and like little dimensional sequins! I finished the card with some of the beautiful frayed natural ribbon!
a peek at the inside
I have added some decoration to the inside with a little blending in some Fresh Freesia Ink and some flicks with the Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Write marker. I added the little birdy stamp in Orchid Oasis and some left over Designer Series Paper and a strip of the Gold Foil. Added to a matt of Crumb Cake Cardstock and the card is finished!
I had loads of fun with this card, and a card of mine was CASE’d!
I can’t wait to see the fun you guys have with this challenge.
Hop over to the GDP Challenge here and take part in the challenge and tag your projects with #GDP416 on your social media posts.
Don’t forget to CASE your own cards, I promise that it is great fun and a great idea when it comes to getting you out of those creative funks!
Until next time, crafty hugs. x
