Who else goes straight to the Designer Series Paper when they get a new catalogue? or straight to the paper section when they go to a craft store? I will admit I am guilty of that!
I love anything to do with pretty paper! That is why I love Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper because not only is it colour coordinated with our beautiful range of colours but some of it also features beautiful die coordination like this Zoo Crew collection.
When I joined Stampin’ Up! all those years ago, or when I first saw Stampin’ Up! even as a customer I fell in love with the coordination between the stamps, the dies, the inks, paper and embellishments. It is what Stampin’ Up! knows well and does well! Coordination is key! If you want to make your card making and paper craft easy then having things that coordinate well is important and Stampin’ Up! takes that hard work away for you and lets you focus on the creativity and fun!
let me show you the die coordination with the zoo crew collection
I have shown below the gorgeous Designer Series Paper featured in the Zoo Crew collection and how the beautiful dies from the Zany Zoo bundle from this collection not only die cut the stamped images from the bundle but will also die cut images from the Designer Series Paper! How amazing is that?
Whilst it does not cut all the images out – it does die cut out some amazing feature images.
Do you want to make a card in a jiffy? Cut out one of these beauties – add a sentiment and you have a beautiful card!
See below for a card I made with no stamped images (apart from a sentiment) and see how you too can make a card featuring Designer Series Paper images!

the finished “you’re too wonderful” card
Here is a look at the finished card! I was so inspired when I knew that I was creating a baby/animal themed card to create something animal/whimsical and child like. The idea was to create rolling hills and I knew that I had the perfect die to create rolling hills with the Basic Borders Dies…
I simply cut strips of Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock to the length I needed and I wanted to die cut them so that the hills had the appearance of being at difference levels and heights. To do this I simply placed the die at different levels on the strips before running them through the die cut machine to make some smaller and some higher.
I love that these cut with a stitched edge as it gives it a beautiful finished look.
For some added texture I added some dry embossing to my layer behind on Basic White with one of the Basic Embossing Folders which I lightly added some Pool Party blending for a soft sky look.
the colour combination that inspired this card…
Here is a look at the colour combination that inspired the card. I took most of my inspiration from the colours that were featured in the Designer Series Paper. That is another thing that I love about the coordination from Stampin’ Up! – all the colours coordinate.
a close up look at all the details…
Here is a close up look at the finished card.
I die cut out the cute little alligator from the coordinating die. There was no die coordination with the rest of the images I chose to use on this card as I wished to use the images that had cute little animals that appeared to be riding bicycles or skates. I don’t mind taking a pair of scissors and having a bit of a fussy cutting session though *wink*
When I was putting my rolling hills together, I placed the second layer on Stampin’ Dimensionals to give my hills a little bit of height. This also allowed me to tuck in some of my cute little animals in and around my hills.
I used the coordinating dies to die cut out some trees, clouds and flowers to embellish the card. I have added a little bit of shadowing with coordinating ink and a Blending Brush to add some depth and definition to these die cuts before adhering them to the card.
a little look at the finished inside…
I couldn’t help but bring some more of that cuteness to the inside of my card and I have added another one of those cute little animals to the inside of my card.
I also added some more of the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper to decorate the inside layer of my card. The back sides of the paper actually feature more plain black and white designs as a bit of a change from the more busy animal featured designs.
I love that Stampin’ Up! tend to mix it up with busy designs and have something more subtle featured on the back side.
I hope that you got some inspiration from my card share today and learnt a little bit about Stampin’ Up!’s amazing die coordination and how they strive to have a fabulous collection of coordinated products to make crafting an easier experience.
