It’s another brand new week and another Global Design Project challenge with a fun theme of beautiful Water Creatures this week! This was a hard choice to make because I actually couldn’t choose from the Sea Turtle, the beautiful fish from the Beauty in The Deep Bundle and the Seaside Bay bundle. In the end I actually combined the beautiful turtle and the Beauty in The Deep bundle to come together to make a congratulations card for my younger sister who recently got engaged. I found the perfectly sentiment for the occasion from another bundle, Wonderful Thoughts which actually has coordinating dies which I love for easy die cut sentiments – there is nothing better than having the work done for you!
Stampin’ Up! actually has a couple of fantastic sentiment only bundles that come with coordinating dies that make the job of fussy cutting or trimming sentiments no more. Scroll through the post to see more.

EASY DIE CUT SENTIMENTS WITH THE WONDERFUL THOUGHTS BUNDLE!
The Wonderful Thoughts bundle is the latest released bundle is this beautiful style of easy die cut sentiments where you only have to stamp your sentiment and then match the die to have a no fuss approach. I love the ease of this!
Sometimes it is hard to know what goes with what, I have shown here on the reference chat above for the Wonderful Thoughts Dies just how cool these dies are and what dies match up with which sentiment. They cut with about 1/16″ of a border around all sides which gives a really nice finished edge.
There is another similar stamp set bundle that was released in a previous catalogue however it is still available and you can see that one in my store here (Charming Sentiments Stamp Set & Sentiment Silhouette Dies)
This one was actually the lovely Lisa Curcio’s one million dollar achievement stamp set (she just reached 3M in sales – WOW!) and she has a template available on her blog that you can print and store with the stamp set that outlines which die is for which stamp. You can download that here.
This is just another great stamp set/die bundle that really makes easy die cut sentiments and that is what I love most about Stampin’ Up! and paper craft is when things become easy and less complicated!
THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING – THE FINISHED CARD
Here is a look at my finished card! I have been loving picking up my Water Painters and Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper lately and having a good play with a brush, some colour and letting the water and colour flow! I love that no one result is ever the same.
When I thought of the theme of ocean creatures and the ocean literally I couldn’t help but sway from the idea of water colour and these deep blues.
I decided to do a little ‘swish’ of ocean and not colour my whole background and love how that turned out. To create this I used a combination of; Tahitian Tide, Azure Afternoon and a tiny bit of Starry Sky.
I did spritz the background with a Starry Sky Stampin’ Write Marker for extra excitement and also used a fun little texture stamp that was included in the Beauty of the Deep Stamp Set and stamped this over my background piece in Versamark a few times and heat embossed in gold. I love the extra sparkle and royal touch it gave the background piece.
the colour combination that inspired this card…
Here is a look at the overall colour scheme of my card. I couldn’t include all the colours that I used here because I tend to throw a lot of things on some of my cards, but this gives the overall feeling. I loved the mixture of royal blues with some beautiful brights thrown in!
A CLOSE UP OF THE DETAIL OF THE FINISHED CARD & THAT FUN SENTIMENT WITH NO FUSSY CUTTING! EASY DIE CUT SENTIMENTS ARE THE BEST!
Here is a close up look at the finished card and all that beautiful texture. The bold pop of that sentiment is so striking and with such an easy die cut sentiments set it was so great to have that stamped/heat embossed and die cut in seconds. The beautiful evenly spaced border that is cuts around edges of the sentiments is so perfect better than fussy cutting any day!
Using the coordinating die cuts from the Beauty in The Deep bundle to add some gorgeous accents to my card like some coral cut in both Basic White and coloured with a Blending Brush and Calypso Coral ink and also just some plain vellum for texture. I also stamped and die cut some fish in Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry.
I just had to add some beautiful seaweed in some bright Parakeet Party to finish off!
To add some more texture I have added some Herringbone Ribbon which has been frayed to pull out some individual strands which I have coloured with a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker. These look beautiful behind my main focal area.
Finally I embellished with some of the Tinsel Gems.
INSIDE OF THE CARD…
To finish I kept the inside of the card simple with some stamped turtles.
These are beautiful Reversibles stamps from Stampin’ Up! meaning that you can use BOTH sides of the stamp to stamp a solid and more detailed image I have used Pretty Peacock to stamp the more detailed side of the turtle and then flipped the stamp to stamp the solid area of the turtle in Lost Lagoon. These two colours together are beautiful.
Finally I have added a little bit of Starry Sky ink spritzed over the card and a sentiment stamped in Memento Black and that was the perfect finish for my engagement card.
This card was a joy to make and I loved combining several stamp sets and bundles to come together for what was actually a relatively easy card.
I hope that you got some inspiration from my card share this week and enjoyed seeing some of our fabulous sentiment bundles. I have linked all the products that I have used below which you can find in my online store along with many other amazing products.
