I will openly say that these are the cards I don’t like to make…sympathy cards.
I recently had two friends lose a furry companion and thought it only appropriate to send them a card with some kind words as I know these furry companions mean so much to us!
I think if this happened to me, a handmade card with some nice heartfelt words is just the thing that would warm my heart.
I used the gorgeous Happy Tails bundle with a mixture of product that is carrying over and also some that is sadly leaving us…
I really wanted to use some of the Wooden Textures DSP as this is sadly retiring and you only have just about a week left to get some before it’s gone for good! I absolutely love this paper for a great card background. It’s very versatile and can pretty much be used with any product.
I also went to town and used some of those super fun True Gentleman buttons as I just love the texture of them and that they also can suit so many different themes and colours.
Here’s a close up of one of the cards. I pulled in some of the gorgeous Grey Granite Textured Weave ribbon which is carrying over to the new catalogue…yay!
I also pulled in the Leaf Punch with some Vellum Cardstock for a fun added element.
To make the dog and the kennel the feature, I stamped and mounted them on a stitched square from the Stitched Shape framelit and backed this on a scalloped square from Copper Foil cut from the Layering Squares dies.
Of course as always I wanted to show you the coordinating inside of the card where I added some more stamps and my favourite sentiment from the set which was so appropriate for the sympathy theme of these cards.
