Bird Ballad #loveitchopit ~ Cards (International Blog Highlight)

Hi everyone and thank you so much for popping by my blog today.

Do you want to know something exciting?? TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE BRAND NEW CATALOGUE!

I am celebrating by taking part in a blog hop which is Kylie’s Betucci’s International Blog Highlight and what better way to celebrate than to use brand new products??

I decided to break out my Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper and go to town and #loveitchopit 

I don’t do this often enough but I LOVED focusing on the paper designs!

You can see below that I have made a total of twelve cards, yep…I featured every single one of the patterns available in this gorgeous pack of paper. I have to admit, I have fallen totally in love with this paper and have already ordered a second packet!

As you can see, I used the same design for each card and kept it really simple just to let those papers shine. I used the flower stamps and a leaf which I have coloured with Old Olive and Flirty Flamingo Blends and yes I did fussy cut these but as I did them in a bulk lot, it didn’t take long at all.

I used the bundle to its fullest potential, using the nested stitched label dies also and the stamp set for both the flowers/leaves and the gorgeous sentiment about friendship.

This blog theme was all about encouragement and when I think about encouragement I think about sending little pick me up notes to all my friends, especially ones I have made through Stampin’ Up!

Here’s a look at the matching envelopes that I have created. I didn’t want to go to all that time and effort without making a nice coordinating envelope to pop the card into.

Here you can see a close up of the gorgeous dimensional and the Gold Faceted Gem that I put as a focal point on the flower.

I also added some of the Scalloped Lace Trim from the suite for a bit of added texture.

As per usual, I had to decorate the inside of my card. 

I couldn’t have a naked card.

I used some DSP on the inside too, which were actually scrap left over from cutting the layer for my card bases. Gotta use every last little bit *wink*
