There is something about hot foil that makes a handmade card feel just a little bit extra—and I am completely hooked!
For this card, I played with the new Stampin’ Up! Hot Foil System, combining beautiful purple tones (that I generally don’t tend to gravitate towards) with the Garden Silhouette Hot Foil Die and Butterfly Flight Hot Foil Dies. I finished the designs with gold hot foil, creating those gorgeous, shiny details that catch the light beautifully.

I love how the gold foil works with the deep purples and soft lavender tones. The layered butterflies add plenty of dimension, while the touches of ribbon, twine and embellishments help bring everything together.

For the butterflies I actually foiled in gold on some Bubble Bath cardstock before using the coordinating Butterfly Flight masks to quickly & easily colour these butterflies with a mixture of; Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather & Blackberry Bliss inks using a Blending Brush.
I love how quick and easy it is to colour these foiled designs using the masks!

I added lots of fun texture to this card with the combination of the Textured Tree Ring design on the base layer and by adding in some additional extras like the scalloped bordered edging and some looped ribbons & twine.
