Fancy Friday - 'Shake it Up' Blog Hop - Kayla Renee, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Today I am really excited to share with you a new project and partaking in a blog hop that I am a brand new member of, the amazing Fancy Friday team!

Without further ado, here is the card I have made for our very last blog hop using the fabulous ‘Shake it Up!’ theme.

We are making projects based on the idea of SHAKING, so today I have decided to make a shaker card using the brand new Special Day stamp set and coordinating dies that will be available to purchase from the 4th of February.

I actually really love making shaker cards, and it is so much fun to receive an interactive card! I know that I love cards that move and shake!

I was really excited to play with these products, as the beautiful Special Day stamp set was released with the brand new Mini Catalogue, but even more exciting – Stampin’ Up! have released brand new coordinating dies to cut all these gorgeous images out which will be available to customers on February 4th.

I combined some fun and happy colours including Coastal Cabana, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green and Lovely Lipstick.

I have stamped that fun Badger and Squirrel in Soft Suede and Early Espresso.

My biggest tip with these gorgeous detailed images is to stamp the detailed image first in your darker colour and then fill it in with the solid stamp with a lighter colour or the original colour stamped off once on a scrap piece of paper.

To create the fun shaker element, I have used our fun Stitched Rectangle Shapes Dies to create a ‘window’ which I have backed with Window Sheet to create my window.

On the inside of my shaker, I have created some gold embossed flowers to create a ‘flower patch’ which I have heat embossed in gold.

My shaker elements include those fun Metallic Bakers Twine and Sequins Combo pack which you can earn FREE in Sale-a-Bration at the moment.

Here’s a close up of the finished card showing all the details. have added to the card.

I just love those stamped and die cut flowers, along with the additional flowers that come in the dies. I added a mixture of colours, including stamped and die cut flowers.

I have added some Basic Rhinestones to centres of my flowers.

I just had to add some more detail to the inside layer of my card where I have added some Coastal Cabana and Whisper White.

I have then stamped a fun balloon in Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green and Coastal Cabana.

The dies also come with some fun balloon strings and bows, which make the cutest bunches of balloons.

I had some leftovers after all my die cutting and my fun stitched rectangle left over from my shaker window so I decided with all these leftovers on my desk, I just had to make another quick card house up these scraps…so I made the stitched rectangle my focus and made this fun card…

I will admit something here…I am actually not a huge fan of rodents, but I did add the little mouse on here. He is cute when he is a paper version!

I also made my own patterned background by repeatedly stamping the balloons in Coastal Cabana on my Whisper White layer and added some balloon strings in Memento Black.

I just love the fun grass die that comes in the Special Days dies, it makes such a fun base for these super cute critters!

I have also used the fun speech bubble die to add my ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment.

Here’s a look at my decorated inside, where I have added some of those gorgeous flowers!
