Merry Moose & Snow Globe ~ Christmas Card

Hello and welcome back to my little blog and thank you so much for visiting!

Today I wanted to share with you I card that I made totally CASE’d from a sample I saw directly from Stampin’ Up! on their Facebook page.

When I get stuck or I just want to craft without thinking too much, I just go to CASE’ing and find that it will often help to bring my creativity back!

I saw this card and just fell in love with it.

I will admit that when I first saw the Merry Moose stamp set that it wasn’t my cup of tea. My good friend and team member Jodie purchased it and we had a craft day together and I just had to use it!

I loved using the Snow Globe bundle without the domes and just making a relatively simple card.

Here you can see the finished card.

To create it I used these steps.

1. I cut a Basic Black card base to a standard card size (I use A4)

2. I have cut a layer of Sahara Sand to 1/8” smaller than the card base.

3. I then cut a layer of Whisper White to 1/8” smaller than the Sahara Sand.

4. I cut a piece of Whisper White scrap big enough to go behind the Snow Globe opening.

5. I have then cut with my Still Scenes dies the snowglobe on the Whisper White layer,

6. I have lightly traced the snowglobe opening with pencil onto my Whisper White scrap and used my Sponge Daubers to apply gently some Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo and Blackberry Bliss ink in circles to create somewhat of a twilight scene.

7. I have then added some stars/snowflakes with the stamp from the Still Scenes stamp set with the Celestial Copper ink and sat this aside to dry.

8. I have stamped the solid image of my moose with Sahara Sand stamped off once and then stamped the outline in Versamark and embossed with Copper embossing powder and punched out with the coordinating punch.

9. I then cut two lots of the trees from Night of Navy cardstock from the Still Scenes dies.

10. I have stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in copper the snowglobe base on Copper foil from the Still Scenes bundle.

11. I then stamped the ‘Christmas Wishes’ banner in Versamark and heat embossed in white from the Toile Christmas bundle and die cut with the corresponding dies.

12. I then adhered my sponge daubered piece to the Sahara Sand card using my white die cut layer to judge placement. I have then adhered my white layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals over the Sahara Sand card layer.

13. To finish off I have added my trees with liquid glue into my snowglobe. I then adhered the snowglobe base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Once this was in place I have adhered my moose with Stampin’ Dimensionals and finally adhered my banner to the snow globe base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

14. To finish off I have flicked some Clear Wink of Stella over the card once everything is adhered for some extra sparkle.

If you want, you can also decorate the inside. I have added a layer of Flirty Flamingo the same size as my Sahara Sand for my card front and a piece of Whisper White 1/8” smaller and added a sentiment from the Toile Christmas stamp set.
