Music From The Heart ~ Stamp Set ~ Stampin' Fancy Friday - Kayla Renee, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Hello lovely crafty peeps!

Today I have a fun card to share with you using BRIGHT colours and my love for everything bright.

This card was made as part of a challenge by my fellow Stampin’ Fancy Friday Design Team which was to be inspired by colour!

I decided to go with my all time favourite – and that is all things BRIGHT!

When I am working with bright colours, I love to use black and white and think that this really helps to ‘even out’ some of the brights when you are working with them.

When I saw the gorgeous Music From The Heart Stamp Set and those gorgeous music notes and sheet music lines – I knew that I wanted to go for black and white with a pop of colour!

Here’s a look at the finished card.

I have started with a Whisper White card base and added layers of Basic Black and another layer of Whisper White. On my layer of Whisper White I have stamped the ‘sheet music’ repeatedly over the background just using Memento Black ink. This gives a fun stripey pattern!

To create my main focal image I have cut a frame using the Stitched Rectangle Dies and made sure to keep the inside piece.

On this piece I have played with the colours and gone to town with bright colours.

To colour this piece I have used a mixture of Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Coastal Cabana. The fun bit is when they blend and mix – it creates a variety of new colours which is so much fun!

I have used oval makeup sponges to blend my colours and add them – but if you don’t have these, you can use our Sponge Brayers.

I have then added some ‘spritzing’ with some watered down Whisper White Craft Ink refill and an Aqua Painter along with some Wink of Stella.

I also stamped my sentiment ‘Just a Note’ in black.

Here’s a close up look at the finished card where you can see some of the texture and detail.

I have stamped my music notes on Basic Black Cardstock in Versamark Ink and heat embossed in white. I have then fussy cut these images out before adhering them to the card.

My framed piece is adhered to the card with Foam Adhesive Strips.

I have then embellished with some Gilded Gems and some beautiful die cut hearts from Gold Glimmer and the Detailed Hearts Die.

Here’s a look at the inside of my card which I have kept simple with layers of Basic Black and Whisper White and some simple stamping in Memento Black and Melon Mambo.
