Stampin’ Up! Blossoms in Bloom ~ Get Well Soon Card

Happy Monday!

Today I am popping on to share a card with you that I was going to throw in the bin!

Yes you read that right. Sometimes I make a card and it just doesn’t turn out the way that I expected and I go to tear it up and throw it in the bin!

BUT…I didn’t – I added a few bits and pieces and I don’t love it, but I am sharing it anyway!

It uses the brand new Blossoms in Bloom bundle and I wanted to focus on those little flower dies that come in the bundle – because it’s easy to get caught up in the gorgeous BIG flower dies and forget those little ones.

Here’s a look at the finished card.

I wanted to have a bit of a ‘cascading’ effect of the flowers going over the card from one side to the other.

I have actually die cut all the flowers from the beautiful Fluid 100 Watercolour paper. If you haven’t tried this stuff yet – you definitely should! It’s an amazing quality watercolour paper.

I have then coloured my flowers with a mixture of colours. The base of the flower is coloured with a mixture of Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green inks.

The top layer is coloured with a mixture of Melon Mambo and Mango Melody Inks. I then let them dry and applied some Wink of Stella for some sparkle before adhering them together.

To make them pretty I have also added a Just Jade 2020-2022 In Colour Enamel Dot to the centre.

The card base is Just Jade – goodness I love this colour.

I have then added layers of Basic Black and Whisper White.

I have also added a strip of Gold Foil – I am making myself use the foil now that our glimmer paper has retired.

Here’s a close up look at the finished card. I have stamped some ‘leaves’ in Coastal Cabana which I did before I adhered the flowers down so that I could use each flower as a guide of where to place my leaves.

I have then wrapped around some of the gold trim from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack. I love love this stuff!

I have also spritzed some Wink of Stella over my entire card for even more sparkle!

I then added some butterflies punched from Gold Foil and Vellum using the Butterfly Duet Punch. I just added a Basic Rhinestone to the centre of these and adhered them to my card with a Mini Glue Dot.

The sentiment is from the coordinating Blossoms in Bloom Stamp Set, heat embossed in white on Basic Black Cardstock.

Here’s a look at the inside of my card which I have kept simple with layers of Whisper White and Basic Black, with a strip of Gold Foil.

I then added another Vellum butterfly with a Basic Rhinestone and added a sentiment from the same stamp set.

I really enjoyed making this card — and it is growing on me.
