Hello and welcome back to my little corner of the web!
Today I have an exciting card to share with you all, and something a little different…a masculine card!
I will admit that masculine cards are not my ‘go to’. I grew up in a family of girls and whilst I am the only girl in my little family now with a son and a hubby (even the fish is a boy!) masculine is still not my forte!
When I saw the Pedal to the Metal stamp set, I just had to get it. It was grunge and perfect!
It has some really easy to use images and you could do so many things with this fun stamp set!
So here’s my card with some tips along the way!
I have gone for one of my go to card bases in Crumb Cake.
I just adore the Crumb cake colour and let’s just say…I would be so sad if we no longer carried it with Stampin’ Up! Thank goodness that is not on the cards any time soon.
I have then cut a smaller layer (10cm x 14.4cm) in Crumb Cake, and a layer of the beautiful Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper to (9.5cm x 13.9cm). Before adhering these down, I have taken my DSP and ‘crumpled’ it in my hands to create a “worn” look and then lightly brushed over some Early Espresso Ink with a Stampin’ Sponge to create a worn and distressed look.
I adhered this down to my layer of Crumb Cake and then adhered this to my card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
p.s. I have also spritzed some Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker over the top.
To create my main focal point, I have stamped the truck on some Crumb Cake cardstock in Memento Black ink and then coloured my trucks with a mixture of Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Basic Black Stampin’ Blends.
As I was not using Thick Whisper White Cardstock, I did go light on the blends.
To finish off I have cut a circle from the Stitched Shapes dies in Whisper White, and a scalloped circle from the Layering Circles in Gold Glimmer. I adhered these together with Glue Dots (I find these work best for glimmer).
I have added some Braided Burlap Tri, and a Star Designer Element in Copper (did you know these carried over from the Holiday Catalogue? They are gorgeous!! and perfect masculine elements)
I have lastly added a sentiment stamped in Memento Black onto White Cardstock!
Of course had to add some layers and stamping to the inside, and this sentiment was perfect!
We actually have so many great supplies and stamp sets for masculine cards.
