I am back as promised with another Dual Pop Out Card! For those that missed my share previously, I made this card using the Stargazing Suite which I made in the Online Stamping Retreat in a class taught by Kylie & Bruno Bertucci and I was so inspired that I made another! I actually made these cards for a reason and had a bit of a ‘challenge’. My sister is a youth worker and was saying goodbye to her clients after many years in the job as she has just finished her nursing degree and is off for her first year of nursing. I had a challenge to make three cards based on her clients favourite things – so a ‘space’ theme, a ‘turtle’ theme and a ‘gaming’ theme. So keep your eye out in the next days for the gaming theme card.

First of all – let’s talk about that turtle…how cute is he/she? I could colour and use that turtle all day long! I used some Lemon Lime Twist and Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blends to colour my cute little turtle.
The bundle comes the cutest little ‘accessories’ like the umbrella, puddle, clouds and even the dies that come with like the grass, tree stump and little bridge. To colour the grass I actually used some Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blends to colour some Basic White Thick Cardstock to get some varied tones before die cutting it out. I did the same with the bridge but used Crumb Cake Stampin’ Ink and a Water Painter. I love using this technique instead of straight cardstock as it really makes it look realistic!

Here is a close up look at some of the detail on the finished card. I used one of my favourite techniques on this card and swiped some Blackberry Bliss Cardstock over my card base to add some darker tones.
P.s. Aren’t those Loose Daisy Embellishments just perfect? I mixed the sentiments and some light stamping using a foliage stamp from the Light The Way Stamp Set which just turned out gorgeous.
let’s check out that pop up card mechanism
Here is a look at the the pop up card mechanism and how it works, it’s pretty nifty – adding it to the left and right hand side allows it operate it these double opening doors, which is pretty cool. As you open the card, the mechanism opens the doors fully up to reveal the writing panel which you can see below. It is a great way to really feature some beautiful Designer Series Paper, and I absolutely love this Delightful Floral Designer Series Paper.

I loved the finished look adding some of the More Dazzle Specialty Paper on the edge of the Dual Flaps looked, especially with all the pink and the girly look on this card – plus any excuse to add some sparkle!

A final look at the card and here you can see the beautiful pop up card fully opened and the panel where you can write your message. The Lighting The Way Stamp Set is beautiful, I inked up one of the stamps that comes with the set in Fresh Freesia and repeatedly stamped it in the bottom right hand corner. Adding some soft blending with blending brush in Fresh Freesia really helped to give this layer a finished look. I added a small sentiment and some Spritzing using a Berry Burst Stampin’ Write Marker.
