Sailing Home ~ Let Hope Be Your Anchor Card

Hello everyone!

Happy Monday – I’m on a day off after working all weekend and enjoying my cup of coffee and catching up on everything happening online.

For those that have asked, yep I’m okay.

I do live in Devonport, Tasmania (Australia) and we are currently in complete lockdown to try and contain a large outbreak of COVID-19 in the area.

I am still working, but being safe!

Today I have a fun card to share with you that you may have seen, as I actually made this LIVE on my Facebook page with the help of all those that were online – a big THANK YOU!

I was really keen to get out some of my annual catalogue Designer Series Paper and #loveitchopit as it will most likely retire in June and I would hate to see it go to waste.

I was inspired by a card from the front of the catalogue, and so I really used that as my jumping point and then added some ‘Kayla’ additions.

Here’s a look at the completed card.

I actually really like this basic layout and I think I might have to repeat this layout using some of the other suites and Designer Series Paper collections, as it really highlights two of the different paper designs.

I have also used the Sail Away DSP to cut some of the sea foliage (have no idea what the name for that stuff is…sea grass?) which I have added to my clusters.

I have also pulled in the Winter Woods Dies which I have used to cut with Silver Glimmer paper for some extra bits and pieces I have added.

P.s. That die cut label is from the coordination Sail Home Bundle dies and it is GORGEOUS.

It has a beautifully stitched edge and I just LOVE IT!

I also love the sentiments in this set, they are just adorable!

Here’s a close up look at the finished card where you can see some of the detail.

I had to have a giggle in the video because I did use some BLING on a male card. Yep! I added my usual Wink of Stella and some Silver Glimmer…because I just had to have some sparkle on there somewhere.

My ship wheel is cut just from Soft Suede Cardstock which gave it a beautiful look!

I have also added my anchor trinket from the Sail Away Trinkets with some Linen Thread which I have tied some knots on, to make it look very authentic!

Here’s the decorated inside of my card where you can see I have just added layers of Basic Black and Whisper White with some stamping from the coordinating stamp set in Memento Black, Balmy Blue and Basic Gray.

Kept it simple, but love it!
