Sailing Home ~ Life Buoy Cards

Hello and HAPPY FRIDAY!

First day of the weekend for many of you. I am actually at work all weekend as it’s my working weekend, however I wanted to share some crafty love with you all.

I recently made these super fun life buoy cards using the brand new Sail Away suite that is coming to the brand new Stampin’ Up! catalogue that goes live to everyone on the 4th of June!

Normally this is not something I would gravitate to, because I just love flowers and girly things, however there was something about this suite, that just made me fall in love!

Here’s a look at the finished card, the one I made on Facebook Live. You can see the original card I made using a different layered die cut piece below.

I really loved combining ALL the products from the suite, yep I used them all! It was just too hard not to. I also introduced the Woven Threads Sequins in the gorgeous Pretty Peacock colour for some added sparkle and shine. These are also new to the new catalogue.

Here’s a close up of the finished card where you can see the fun dimension on the life buoy and the fun element it adds to the card. It’s also a really fun way to frame the focal image on the card.

I also did talk in my video about using a Bow Easy Template which I purchased from the lovely Kylie Bertucci. I used this to create my Linen Thread bow that I layered many times.

Here’s a look at the original card that I made.

The only variation here is that I used a different Designer Series Paper from the Sail Away collection and a different die cut Memories & More piece from the set.

I love how a simple change like that can really change up the look.

I once again used the fun sequins, however this time used some fun Seaside Spray sequins. They are so prettyyyy! I can see myself needing to buy more of those soon!

I created a matching inside for both cards exactly the same. I stamped a beautiful anchor in Night of Navy and some fun sea birds in the pretty Coastal Cabana (favourite colour of all time!)
