Stampin’ Up! ~ Creating Kindness July Blog Hop

Hello everyone! 

I am so excited as today I am taking part in an amazing blog hop as a guest designer, the awesome Creating Kindness Blog Hop.

This is a blog hop that has demonstrators and crafters from all over the world sharing paper crafting and the things that they love most!

This month the theme is art inspiration and what inspires us to create or something that inspires us to create, whether that be a famous work of art or whatever you choose.

I actually regularly ponder Pinterest and find a lot of art that inspires me whether that be prints, watercolour paintings, graphic design and lots more.

Here’s a look at my finished card.

I was so inspired to watercolour this feather from the gorgeous Tasteful Touches stamp set and go with my favourites colours of blues and greens!

The inspiration came from this beautiful graphic that I have had saved for a long time on my inspiration board on Pinterest.

I went along with the theme of a loosely watercoloured image and simply stamped my feather in Staz On Black so that it would not be affected by the water I added when I went to watercolour.

I have then used a combination of; Granny Apple Green, Just Jade and Pacific Point Inks to loosely watercolour with my Water Painters around the feather.

Tip: When doing techniques like this it is best to use a suitable cardstock that can withstand that water and not cause the fibres to break. In this case I have used some of our Shimmery White Cardstock.

I then added some layers of Basic Black Cardstock and some of the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper with a very thin strip and accented this with some Linen Thread before adding a layer of Crumb Cake Cardstock.

Here’s a little look at the colour palette that I used for the card today…

To embellish I have added some of Wink of Stella spritzing and of the fabulous Elegant Faceted Gems.

I have also added a sentiment which I have heat embossed in white on some Crumb Cake Cardstock and fussy cut this out!

I have adhered the whole sentiment with Liquid Glue, apart the ‘you’ which I adhered with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. 

Here’s a look at the inside of the card where I have added some layers of Crumb Cake and Whisper White along with some stamping in Just Jade from the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set along with a sentiment stamped in Memento Black and another strip of Forever Greenery DSP with some Linen Thread.

I hope my card provided some inspiration for you all to take those pieces of art or graphics you find and be inspired to create with them!
