Happy Monday and welcome to a new week! I hope that you will have a fabulous one!
I am welcome the week with participating in the lovely Kylie B’s International Blog Highlight’s. I always love it when I get the time to join in and I was excited to be able to have a play with the Cheerful Daisies bundle.
You can jump over to Kylie’s blog post CLICK here and check out all the lovely projects that took part in this month’s highlights and if you like my project you can vote for it this month.
Here is a look at my finished card. I wasn’t sure about the finished card at first. I went for a little something different with the layering or maybe it was colours. Who knows. Haha!
I covered the whole card from with the beautiful Designer Series Paper which was a little bit different for me as I would normally use very specific layering which I never normally deviate from.
It was nice however to try something new and the Designer Series Paper in this suite is very beautiful!
I then added some layers in Pretty Peacock and some Basic White which I have lighted blended with some Pebbled Path with a Blended Brush.
P.s. How gorgeous is Pebbled Path? Definitely one of my new favourite colours!!
There is a look at the base of my colour combo I have used. Definitely a very ‘regal’ colour combo, or what I would call a regal colour combo. I love the rich tones in this. I am loving the new colours and having a play with them. If you do want to have a play with the new In Colours – grabbing the Fresh as a Daisy suite is a great idea – as it features pretty much all of them!
Here is a close up of the finished card where you can see some of the detail. I have really focused on the two stamping on this card. I just love two step stamping when I feeling lost for time and not up for colouring. Sometimes I love spending lots of time at the craft desk with the finer work of colouring and sometimes I just want something quick and easy like two step stamping – this is definitely one of those stamp sets where you can achieve that!
I have gone for some Wild Wheat and Berry Burst with my daisies which I just loved. I have added some Copper Clay to the centres and Pretty Peacock for the leaves and called it done!
P.s. Side note – I have always hated Garden Green – and the last few cards, it has been added in. It is growing on me….I am actually liking it! It looks great here for the stems!
A few finishing touches with some Linen Thread and the coordinating Adhesive Backed Solid Gems.
A few touches to the inside of the card with some Designer Series Paper, some Pretty Peacock Cardstock and another stamped daisy with some spritzing from a Pebbled Path Stampin’ Write Marker.
This card is growing on me. Whether it was the Regal colours that took a while, or the different layering sizes, I am not sure. I am usually a brights girl and am someone of routine. It is good to go out of your comfort zone once in a while – they do say that is where growth happens and new ideas are born!
I really enjoyed participating in the blog highlights this month and loved playing with this suite.
I hope that you were able to get some inspiration.
