I am excited to be back on my blog – had a little bit of a hiatus with a few family gatherings and some fun here at home – it is always nice to spend time with family.
I had a super fun challenge for my Stampin’ Up! team the Sassy Stampers – a colour challenge.
I don’t know about you but I love to play with colour! That’s what it is all about isn’t it? It’s one of the reasons I fell in love with Stampin’ Up! with all the colour coordination and their beautiful colour families.
I saw this beautiful collection of colours and decided to put it together as a colour challenge for my team – feel free to use it too…

We actually also have a beautiful promotion this month with some limited edition dies to match some of our gorgeous stamp set and these dies to match the Fresh Cut Flowers stamp set came in perfect timing for this gorgeous floral card. They are available only for a limited time so be sure to check them out in my store.

Here is a look at my finished card.
I really wanted to have an emphasis on all the colours in my little colour swatch but I won’t lie – Fresh Freesia is definitely a favourite of mine, which is interesting as purple is not a go to colour for me!
I have stamped my feature floral arrangement on some Shimmery White Cardstock in Versamark and heat embossed in black. This gave me a nice base to do some watercoloring. I have used all four of my colours in my colour swatch to colour my image.
I went outside the box a little by colouring my ‘leaves’ in a mixture of Melon Mambo and Mango Melody. In my head I think leaves should be green but I love how it turned out.
I have also added some watercoloring in Fresh Freesia to a background piece to go behind.

Here is a close up of the finished card and some of the detail.
I had a whole heap of fun with the coordinating limited edition dies on this card. I cut out a whole heap of these little detailed dies in all the coordinating colours, some vellum and some Gold Glimmer. They made the perfect accents.
I have added a nice thick border in Fresh Freesia and added the detailed border in the same colour. I added some blending to this with Fresh Freesia with a Blending Brush to help add some detail.
My sentiment is from the Charming Sentiments Bundle and heat embossed in white on some Rich Razzleberry Cardstock. I love this bundle for a quick sentiment and even better that it has dies. This is possibly my favourite sentiment bundle in a very long time!!

Here is a look at the finished inside of the card where I have added some left over die cuts and another border piece.
I just love how this card turned out!
The colour combination was so much fun to play with!
Feel free to play along and share your take on this colour combination with. me and share it in my VIP group here.
OR if you are in Australia and looking to join a fun team like mine, join the Sassy Stampers to join in our fun community of stampers where we challenge and inspire each other.
Until next time,
Crafty hugs xx
