I hope that you are having a lovely week wherever you may be.
This time of the year is an exciting one at Stampin’ Up! – it’s Sale-a-Bration – which means FREE products with every $90 increment spent! WOOHOO! Spending time. Nothing better than free product.
My shop is taking a short break for a couple of months – but you can order through my lovely upline Kylie Bertucci. Here is a link to her store.
Don’t miss out on cashing in on free product!
So this week at TGIF we have a fun sketch challenge!
I love these – it’s like a road map to a good card.
Which brings me to this. If you love sketches you seriously want to check out Martin Stone’s fabulous Sketch book! I have one and they are FABULOUS!
For this week’s challenge I have actually flipped the sketch and interpreted it quite differently with the strip off the side and then the large rectangle focal point on a portrait card. I love that sketches can all be interpreted so differently!
Here is a look at my fun card…
I have used one of the fun Sale-a-Bration freebies – well two actually.
Both of these are level one products which means they are available free with a $90 order. Spend $180 and you can get BOTH free.
I love the beautiful In The Country stamp set because it’s perfect for colouring techniques. I have stamped the image in Staz On on Shimmery White and used some inks with a Water Painter to have some fun with watercolour.
Here is a little look at the colour palette that I have used. It looks quite ‘random’ but I have used a light wash of some of the colours and created my own fun palette.
I have framed the focal point piece using the Scalloped Contours dies and added a border with the Distressed Gold. I love that this really helps this to stand out
I have added some layers of Vellum and the Dry Brushed Metallic Specialty Paper. This paper is gorgeous!
I have added some Linen Thread and Rustic Metallic Dots.
The other Sale-a-Bration product I have used is the gorgeous Sending Support set which has such beautiful sentiments to create cards for those times you need to create a card for a friend or family member that needs some support!
Here is a look at the inside of my card where I have added some simple layers and some more of the Dry Brushed Designer Series Paper with some Linen Thread and some more of the gorgeous sentiments stamped simply in Early Espresso.
I love the simplicity but detailing on this beautiful stamp.
It is so relaxing to sit there and colour sometimes. Crafting is the best therapy!
I hope that you were able to find some inspiration in today’s post.
Be sure to go and check out this week’s TGIF challenge and join in!
