A big happy Monday to you all!
It’s a fresh and new week for us all to take a deep breath and make plans for the week ahead.
I am here with my brand new Annual Catalogue – already marking pages and making plans with new products and exciting new things on the horizon. There are so many exciting changes and new products coming our way at Stampin’ Up! and I am so excited!
Today I thought I would pop in and share some cards that I made a little while ago using some products that are staying with our new Annual Catalogue that I just absolutely ADORE!
This is the Simply Succulents Bundle and it is just to die for!
Those that know me, know that I just adore succulents. I call my house a jungle, especially since I know live with my mother and she is also a plant lover, as is my sister who also lives there. Our combined love of plants, means that it is much like a jungle.
There is a lot to be said about the therapeutic qualities of surrounding yourself with plants.
When I saw this bundle, I just had to set out to create with it. I was in love!
Be sure to check below where I have listed some tips and tricks, and at the bottom of the post, I have included a full products list where all of the products I have used are available in my store.

Here’s a look at the first finished card.
I had so much fun on these cards playing with the Embossing Paste.
This is something I don’t pull out to use NEAR ENOUGH. It can be because it is a more ‘messy’ technique but when you do get it out to play with – you reap the rewards as it is so much fun to play with.
I pulled it out with my Silicone Craft mat and the Palette knives and coloured it with a couple of drops of Soft Sea Foam re-inker to make a coloured paste. I then smeared this on some Basic White Cardstock to achieve a really fun background. It really ‘makes’ this card.
I then coloured my focal succulent image with a mixture of Stampin’ Blends including; Granny Apple Green, Rich Razzleberry, Mint Macaron, Purple Posy, Just Jade and Soft Sea Foam.

Here’s a close up of the finished card.
I used some of the coordinating dies to add some accents to the card which I have die cut in Just Jade, Shaded Spruce, Mint Macaron and Granny Apple Green.
I then added one of the felt pieces from the Flowering Cactus Product Medley.
The sentiment has been heat embossed in gold on some Basic Black Cardstock and die cut with one of the coordinating dies.

Here’s a look at the second card.
I have taken a similar approach to the card using the embossing paste, except I have used one of the basic Pattern Decorate Masks to add my embossing paste through to create this fun background.
I kept the basic techniques the same except added some other colours of Stampin’ Blends into my colouring like Magenta Madness, Flirty Flamingo, Pumpkin Pie and Mango Melody.

Here’s a close up of the finished card.
I have added some Linen Thread as a fun accent and added some of the Artistry Blooms Sequins as a fun and bright accent to really add some bright touches of fun to the card.

Here’s a look at the last card in this trio.
On this card I have actually used the negative of the coordinating die that comes as part of the Simply Succulents Bundle to create a ‘mask’ which I have then added my Embossing Paste through and I have kept the Embossing Paste white instead of colouring it.
This is so fun and so easy!
I have then coloured the focal image once again adding some Calypso Coral and Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends. I have also added Wink of Stella to my image.

Here’s a close up of the finished card where you can see some of the texture.
For the sentiment on this card I have heat embossed the sentiment in white on Basic Black Cardstock to really make it pop, once again using one of the coordinating dies to cut this image out.
I have once again used one of the felt pieces from the Flowering Cactus Product Medley.
Some tips for using the Embossing Paste
- Use our range of masks with the Embossing Paste to add a fun variety of textured patterns.
- Colour the texture paste with our re-inkers in any of our available colours.
- While the Embossing Paste is still wet, you can ‘push’ embellishments like rhinestones or other textured items into it before it dries for another added and fun element.
- Use dies to create your own masks to use with the Embossing Paste.
- Use the Embossing Paste on its own and ‘smear’ it onto cardstock with a Palette Knife.
- Colour the paste and use it on the same coloured cardstock for a tone on tone look.
- If you don’t have the Shimmery Embossing Paste, you could add glitter or our Wink of Stella to the paste to make your own glittery and shimmery paste.
I hope that you got some inspiration from today’s post.
