Happy Sunday lovely crafters, and thank you for popping by my little blog today.
Today I am sharing a fun card that I actually made last month (late in sharing I know) to celebrate my father’s birthday. I wanted to share this because it actually does use a stamp set that is retiring from our collection, Whiskey Business (for the sentiment)!
This card was actually inspired by a very talented demonstrator and Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Member, Susan Wong – from New Zealand. You can see her fabulous Instagram account where she shares all her fabulous work here.
Here’s a look at the card that inspired this fun card.
Here’s a look at my card…
I chose to use one of my favourite colours for the base of the card – Cinnamon Cider. I just LOVE this colour and find it so rich & warm. It really is like a toasty and warm mug of cider!
I have combined the Sailing Home Stamp Set for the fun images stamped repeatedly over the background in Basic Gray, Pool Party and Granny Apple Green and a sentiment from the Whiskey Business Stamp Set stamped in Cinnamon Cider.
I stamped a fun sail boat in Bermuda Bay and die cut this from the corresponding Smooth Sailing Dies (this fabulous bundle has carried over to the new Annual Catalogue) – I also cut out a gorgeous ship’s wheel in Cinnamon Cider.
Here’s a close up look at the finished card.
I have used some of the beautiful Well Suited Twine. This is sadly retiring – so grab it quick!
I have embellished also with some of the Matte Black Dots.
To add texture I have added some In Good Taste Designer Series Paper. The wood texture really suits masculine cards!
Here’s a look at the card insert which I have kept simple with layers of Granny Apple Green and Basic White with some of the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper and some more of the Twine with some stamping in Basic Grey and Pool Party.
I hope you got some inspiration from today’s card share and a big thank you to Susan Wong for inspiring this fun card – I really love look at her work and definitely urge you to check out her Instagram and Facebook to be inspired.
Big crafty hugs! xx
