The Stampin’ Fancy Friday design team consists of present and past Stampin’ Up Artisan Design Team members and I am so honoured and thrilled to be a member of the design team, every month we have a challenge that we can all take part in and it is a lot of fun to all get our creative juices flowing and jump in an join in a fun challenge together.
This month we are featuring a fabulous sketch challenge design and when I saw the sketch I immediately thought of the Crafting With You bundle with the beautiful embroidery hoops.
This is why I LOVE sketches. Sometimes they immediately spring an idea, or sometimes they just get you out of a creative funk or push you to try a new idea! Whatever it is – sketches are great!
There are some great images in the Crafting With You Stamp Set, but some really call out for multi toned stamping- stamping with Stampin’ Write markers is one way that you can achieve this easily and
today I am going to show you step by step how you can achieve this with your markers.
let’s take a quick look at the sketch we are working with…
The sketch is very inspiring. I had a lot of ideas and it was very hard to channel my ideas to just one.
I might just have to keep this sketch in my repertoire for using again in my card designs!

stamping with stampin’ write markers – a cool technique
Here is a look at the technique! How cool is it, and how quick and simple is it to achieve that cool stamping? I literally mounted the stamp that I wanted, got the colours that I wished to stamp with in the markers and literally coloured in my stamp in different areas with different colours.
Note: The term “Huffing” simply refers to breathing on the stamp to reactivate the ink with hot air
TIP: Did you know that the components of a Stampin’ Write Marker are exactly the same as our Stampin’ Classic Ink Pads? Yep! and the Stampin’ Write Markers can be refilled with the Ink Refills? Say what??
Brilliant!
The Stampin’ Write markers have a lot of potential in the craft room. I can’t wait to share lots more ideas and craft projects featuring the markers, see below for information on how to purchase the markers to get started for yourself.
To purchase the Stampin’ Write Markers they come in each of the four colour families or you can purchase them as an entire collection. Here is a look at all the different collections;

life is better when you are crafting
A look at the finished card! I actually love the look of repetition when it comes to design. It is so easy when it comes to card design as well. Pick what element you want to design with and you literally just have to repeat it – EASY!
I love the elements in the Crafting With You bundle, I mean what crafter wouldn’t? It is made for us crafters! If you haven’t seen it, scroll to the bottom and see where I have linked it because it even has little Stampin’ Up! appropriate images with a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine and a Stampin’ Trimmer – C-U-T-E!
I decided on the embroidery hoops for this design however and I actually went for Very Vanilla for my base colour *drop the mic* – I say that purely because I am a Basic White girl through and through. There is no Very Vanilla here. I mean – I have a stash of it don’t get me wrong, but I don’t find myself every grabbing it. This card however, something called me.
I am glad I did it, I actually think it went well with my colour palette;
a close up look at the cool effect of stamping with markers
Here is a close up that shows some of that beautiful stamping that I achieved with the Stampin’ Write Markers. It looks a little bit like watercolour!
On each of my little stitched circles, I added a little bit of Crumb Cake ink with a Blending Brush to add a little bit of definition.
I love the Very Vanilla circle with Pecan Pie embroidery hoop.
I can’t tell you where I saw this, but I was scrolling Instagram the other day and someone featured the new Herringbone ribbon and fraying it to achieve those strands that you can see – I am in love! It can be a little messy and hard to adhere but I found that if you use a little Stampin’ Seal or some Tear N’ Tape and stick it down into it – crisis averted!
To finish the card I embellished it with some of the beautiful Adhesive Backed Sequins.
a look at the inside – no naked cards here!
Here is a look at the inside of the card. As the title says – no nudey cards here. How adorable do they look?
I have repeated the technique of stamping with the Stampin’ Write Markers on the inside of the card, however this time I stamped a beautiful wool basket and some balls of wool which adds to the effect that was created on the card front.
I added some of the Soft Shimmer Specialty Paper. If you see this stuff up close – it has the most adorable subtle shimmer.
The Pecan Pie combined with Pretty Peacock combination whilst not expected is a delightful surprise and with these handmade details looks beautiful and will hopefully delight the recipient.
I hope that you got some inspiration from my post today & enjoyed my little spotlight on stamping with the Stampin’ Write Markers
