It’s a fabulous Friday again and another great TGIF challenge! This week I have TWO cards to share. Say what? I am going to show you how to step it up and change up a card in a few simple steps. You can create one card in two ways! Easy peasy – lemon squeazy!
I was on Facebook Live yesterday and promised I would use this stamp set and so the challenge was set, but it wasn’t a challenge at all – this stamp set is amazing and when you have the inspiration from an amazing set – the creativity just flows! I can’t wait to share what I created….
#TGIFC438 How would you do…1 card 2 ways
This week’s challenge is a super fun way. Making one card, but switching it up and doing it two ways! There are so many ways you could do this. Maybe come up with a design and repeat it in different colours? Try it with different patterned paper? A different stamp? A different shape? How would you do it? OR you could take how I have done this week’s challenge…keep reading to find out…

because you’re awesome – step it up – one card two ways!
Here is a look at the finished card. I started with some Basic White notecards. Changing it up and working with the smaller size is a great change sometimes.
Starting with the gorgeous wave/sun image from the Circle Sayings stamp set I stamped it in Versamark and heat embossed it in white on some Fluid 100 Watercolour paper.
Once this image was heat embossed I water coloured my image in a mixture of; Tahitian Tide, Starry Sky, Lemon Lolly and Daffodil Delight. I also took the shells stamp and although this stamps in an arch I fussy cut these images out and used them as embellishments. I have coloured these in a mixture of; Calypso Coral, Wild Wheat and Pumpkin Pie.
the colour combination the inspired my card…
a close up look at the finished cards
After I had my watercolored piece I matted them with the Deckled Circles dies. These are a new favourite of mine! Definitely a craft stash staple!!! I used a combination of the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper and some Basic Black Cardstock as my layers. On both cards this actual component remains the same. It is the next step where I chose to step it up!
On one of the cards I chose to emboss a layer with the beautiful cross hatch style 3D Basics Embossing Folder. To accent it a little more I used a Blending Brush with some Wild Wheat Ink around the edges.
I added some of the Natural Ribbon behind the Deckled Circles to add a little more texture. This was a good way to step up the design a bit further from the original design.
I added some of the beautiful Ombre Matte Decorative Dots to embellish.
a look at the inside
I kept the insides of the two notecards exactly the same. Some simple blending with Wild Wheat and some stamping with those gorgeous shells. I added a stamped sentiment in Cajun Craze and and layered my inside layer on Basic Black.
I had a lot of fun making a project for today’s challenge – making the same card two ways!
You can step it up so easy, change the colours, the stamp, the Designer Series Paper or like I have – add a few extra details!

I hope that you were able to get some inspiration today, until next time, crafty hugs. xx
