Hello there and welcome back to my blog on this fine Thursday.
Well it would usually be pretty cruisey, but today I am in at the dentist for a root canal procedure…but these things have to be done!
Before heading off to the dentist, I thought I would come and share a recent card that I made, after seeing some gorgeous cards on the interweb and being totally inspired to follow the tutorial.
These cards were inspired by the lovely Melissa Luedtke over at Farmhouse Stamping. She has a tutorial which I followed, so I really do encourage you to go over and check it out.
I was really inspired by her lovely tutorial and thought what better way than to focus on this super fun, bright and happy Tropical Oasis paper. Doesn’t this just scream holiday shirt?
Perfect masculine card also!
See the bottom of this post for a full list of the products I have used to create this card, all of which areavailable in my store.
Here’s a look at the finished card, where you can see the Hawaiian shirt all closed with those fun True Gentleman buttons. Unfortunately those buttons are retired, and were on the Clearance Rack when I made this card, but must have been popular as they have sold out!
You could use any kind of button closure you wanted to however! There are lots of cute options!
I chose this fun tropical print for my card, however I am keen to go back and make a shirt out of each of the patterns in the DSP patterns. How could you not?
I have embellished this fun card with some Linen Thread (which I also wove through the buttons) and a fun stamp from the coordinating Timeless Tropical stamp set. Just a simple ‘Hello’ was enough I felt, as I didn’t want to take away any focus from the fun shirt!
To create all the bits and bobs for the shirt, I have used a mixture of the Nested Stitched Labels Dies, The Stitched Shapes Dies and the Stitched Rectangle Dies.
It does sound like you need a lot of dies, but in reality those are dies that are essentials to every crafting stash!
The fun thing about this card also, is that it has a fun ‘backing’ with a scored piece, that allows it to stand up on a mantlepiece or table, and does not have to lie flat!
See the blog linked up the top from the lovely Melissa to see more details on how to do this.
Here’s another fun close up of the finished card where you can really see all that fun stitched detail on the die cuts. I just love our stitched dies!
Here’s a look at the decorated inside of the card…and yep I realised afterwards that my pineapples were running the wrong way…but we will go with it 😉
I have stamped a sentiment and a pineapple from the Timeless Tropical stamp set, and decided to make this card a fun masculine birthday card!
Can never have enough of those!
I hope you enjoyed the look at this card today that I have CASE’d from the fabulous Melissa.
