Hi and welcome back to my blog.
It’s been a bit quiet around here, I do apologise. I have been busy with work and planning this upcoming wedding of mine.
I did want to pop on and share these cards I made for some lovely friends of mine.
Those that know me, know that I just LOVE peacocks and I love the gorgeous colours. When I saw that Stampin’ Up! were coming out with a peacock suite, I was just in love!
I really wanted to trial making some peacock cards and using the Pigment Sprinkles which are also new to this year’s annual catalogue. I had so much fun making mess!
Here’s the set of cards that I made…
I took some of our brand new Fluid 100 watercolour paper, which you can see linked below and went to town adding pigment sprinkles in the Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green colours.
I have seen people use the Pigment Sprinkles in a variety of ways, however how I achieved this look was to deeply saturate the paper first with a Stampin’ Spritzer. I then laid down the colour and added more water to blend it all together and just love how it turned out.
To finish the card I added some of the gorgeous Noble Peacock foil to layer with and also to cut some of my die cuts out of that come as part of the peacock suite.
I also cut some of the leaves and branches out of scrap watercolour paper that had been treated with the Pigment Sprinkles (that I used for the background).
To get my peacock, I actually used the Stamparatus as it is a two step stamp and I find the Stamparatus so helpful when doing two step stamping!
I stamped the first layer (the body) in Pacific Point and then went back with Versamark ink and heat embossed in gold.
I then ran my Wink of Stella pen over the top and then blended the Pacific Point ink out a little bit and added lots of sparkle…and you can never have enough sparkle!
I have further embellished it with some of the Peacock ribbon that comes in the suite and some Linen Thread. I then added some of the Noble Peacock Rhinestones.
I had so much fun!!!
I wouldn’t have been finished until I decorated the inside of the card and I actually used a different stamp set to do this. I used a sentiment and a flourish from the Beauty Abounds stamp set in Pacific Point and Granny Apple Green and love how it turned out!
I hope you liked having a look at how I have used the Noble Peacock suite and the gorgeous Pigment Sprinkles today. You can see all the products I have used linked below which will take you right to my shop where you can purchase them.
Crafty hugs! xx
