You Make Me Smile ~ Scrapbook Page

Today I have decided to share something a little different…a scrapbook page!

You may not know…but traditionally I am a scrapbooker and that’s how I started paper crafting 14 years ago and just 14. Yep I have been paper crafting now officially for half my life!

I really wanted to create with the new designer series paper and I could not think of a better way of highlighting them than to make a scrapbook page.

I had this photo of my son and I, taken in my mother’s front garden underneath a Cherry Blossom Tree (there is actually a magnolia tree just to the left…darn!)

I have really focuses on the Magnolia suite here, however I have pulled in other products and stamp sets. Scroll down to the bottom to see and follow all the links to the products I have used.

I usually like to start my scrapbook pages with a plain white background. I am not sure why, but I really enjoy the white space.

I added some texture with the Artisan Textures stamp set and used some Petal Pink ink to add some fun texture.

I pulled in one of the Magnolia Lane DSP’s as my background and to fancy it up a little, swiped my Versamark Ink Pad around the edges and embossed in gold. I even went to town and added some machine stitching. 

I have also added some Smoky Slate Cardstock to the edges which you can get in the Neutrals 12×12 Cardstock Pack.

I have then embellished by adding some ribbons, and that gorgeous magnolia created from the Magnolia Memory dies and the Balloon Punch. I also embossed the edges of this in gold and sponged the centres with some Petal Pink ink. I added a Gold Faceted gem to finish it off.

I have further added some dies cuts from the Seasonal Layers dies for some branches, some Magnolia Lane Cork Embellishments (the leaves) and some Metallic Pearls.

The journalling I have created on my typewriter.
