Today I am sharing a fun card that I made that was totally one of those ‘on the fly’ cards that I just came up with last minute.
I happened to be chatting to a friend and fussy cutting a heap of those adorable birdies from the Bird Ballad patterned paper, then I thought about making a sponged background with a combination of colours that I have never used before: Rich Razzleberry and Gorgeous Grape.
This was inspired by the lovely Chloe Evans, who showed this idea the other day and I just fell in love!!!
Here’s a look at the finished card.
This is actually a super easy card to make!
Simply make a template using a piece of Vellum or a Window Sheet and die cut out a rectangle (I used the Stitched Rectangle Dies) and use this as your template to ‘sponge’ your rectangle.
I have used some Oval Makeup Brushes …. my go to!
I then edged my rectangle with some Linen Thread which I have used some Liquid glue to adhere down.
Here’s a close up of the finished card where you can see some of the detail.
I have adhered down my fussy cut birdies and some additional flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I have also added some Metallic Silver Thread as a bit of a ‘nest’.
To further embellish I have added a Bird Trinket and some Wink of Stella (of course!) and finished with a sentiment from the Label Me Bold Stamp Set.
