I have been participating in a chain card swap over the last couple of months. In these swaps, you make a card, send it to the next person who copies and edits it. They then they pass it on until it returns to you, often looking very different.
Round five of this blog hop series features cards inspired by Ros’s card. I used the Bright Skies bundle from the new Annual Catalogue to make a bright fun card for this round.
my finished bright skies inspired card

I was actually first to CASE Ros’s card (see below to check Ros’s card). Her card design intrigued me with a large label & clustered focal points. I decided to go in this direction for my card.
For this Bright Skies card I added lots of stitched clouds for a soft & whimsical feel. With some soft blending these clouds came to life.
a close up look at the card details

I added in more texture by cutting some lightning and raindrop elements. Using the Bright Skies dies I cut these in both silver and Berry Burst glimmer paper.
I love to mix up textures and shapes on my cards as it really helps to add visual interest.
The bright colours on this card were balanced with a pop of black which I used for my sentiment. I then added an accent of the Black & Vanilla Gingham Ribbon.
a little peek at the inside

To decorate the inside I have added a little bit more stamping & some spritzing with a coordinating Stampin’ Write Marker. I added some layers of leftover Designer Series Paper and Glimmer Paper and called it done.
This was a fun card to make and I really enjoyed seeing the progression of the card throughout the chain.
You can see the whole ‘chain’ of card in the series and how the card has evolved below.
I suggest following it in order from number one onwards to see the true progression of the card.
Until next time, crafty hugs. xx
