Hello lovely blog readers and thanks for popping by my blog today.
Today I am excited to be sharing an Easter card with you that I have made for the fabulous Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop.
This month we are following an Easter/Seasonal theme.
I will actually put my hand up to admit that I don’t generally make Easter themed cards.
I am actually equally as bad at making and sending Christmas cards…but I wanted to give this a go!
I decided to be really inspired by one of my crafting favourites who is an Artisan Design Team Member…Emma Goddard. She makes these gorgeous watercolored stripes. I was totally keen to give this a go. I decided to pull this out and combine it with the gorgeous rabbit from the Fable Friends Stamp Set and the beautiful flowers from the Special Someone Stamp Set and Special Day Dies.

Here’s a look at the finished card where you can see the finished result.
I was actually really inspired to try a new colour combo, which was the basis of this card design.
Here’s some basic steps to complete this card:
- Cut a card base from Thick Whisper White Cardstock to a top folding portrait card.
- Cut a layer of Basic Black Cardstock to 9.9cm x 14.3cm. Adhere this to your card base.
- Cut a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper to 9.7cm x 14.1cm. With this piece, use an Aqua Painter to ‘paint’ stripes of Coastal Cabana, Lovely Lipstick and Gorgeous Grape. Let this dry before adhering this to your piece of Basic Black. Then adhere this to your card base.
- Cut a large scalloped oval using the large scallop die from the Layering Circles Dies from Basic Black Cardstock. Cut the largest stitched oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies using Thick Whisper White Cardstock. Set these aside.
- Take the Whisper White oval and stamp a rabbit from the Fable Friends Stamp Set. Also stamp some grass using the grass stamp from the same stamp set. Colour this image using a selection of Stampin’ Blends including; Smoky Slate, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Blackberry Bliss Dark, Granny Apple Green Light, Petal Pink Light and Calypso Coral Light. Adhere this to your black oval and adhere this to your card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Taking a scrap of Whisper White Thick Cardstock stamp some flowers using some Gorgeous Grape ink, and die cut these out with the coordinating Special Day Dies. Also cut out some flowers using Gold Glimmer Cardstock and Coastal Cabana Cardstock. Place these where shown on the card using appropriate adhesive. Add some Holiday Basic Rhinestones and Noble Peacock Rhinestones.
- Tie a bow using the Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and add to the card where shown using Glue Dots.
- Stamp a sentiment from the Fable Friends Stamp Set using a Versamark Ink Pad and heat emboss in white. Cut these into sentiment strips and add to the card where shown.
- Decorate the inside layers of the card if you wish to. See image below.
- Enjoy!

Here’s a close up of the finished card with a close up of all of the finer details.
I actually think I will have to repeat a card using a very similar colour combo because I do love these three colours together.
This little rabbit is one of my favourites too. He’s such a cute little ‘Petter Rabbit’.
I must admit that I don’t reach for my oval shapes very often, as I am more of a circle girl, but this rabbit really called out for my oval shape.
Here’s a look at the inside of my card where I have added some additional flowers die cuts.
I have added an additional greeting just for a bit of added ‘Easter’ fun.
I hope you enjoyed today’s post and got some inspiration.
