Sending Flowers ~ Sale-a-Bration Coordination ~ Friendship Card

Welcome back to my blog and thanks for visiting today.

Today I wanted to come back and share something that I just LOVED making with you using the gorgeous Sale-a-Bration coordination dies available right NOW and ending this month!

I fell in love with these gorgeous Sending Flowers Dies that Stampin’ Up! released to coordinate with the beautiful Sending Thoughts Stamp Set thatyou can earn FREE at the moment with a $90 order or more in my online store.

This card however just uses the dies, without the coordinating stamp set. Instead I chose to bring in some beautiful sentiments from the Free as a Bird stamp set, because I just love the fonts and sentiments for what I wanted this particular card for.

I have used my favourite technique at the moment and that is sponging!

I was really inspired by the lovely Dena Rekow when she showed off her gorgeous sponging with the oval makeup brushes, and so I used the same favourite technique on this card to achieve a night sky look.

I have used a mixture of Night of Navy and Pacific Point Inks with my makeup brushes to achieve this look and then have added some ‘spritzes’ of Clear Wink of Stella to achieve a look that looked like stars in the night sky.

To achieve this card I have followed these basic steps:

• Cut a card base from Coastal Cabana Cardstock to a top folding card. 
• Cut a layer of Basic Black Cardstock to 10cm x 14.4cm. Set aside.
• Cut a piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock to 9.7cm x 14.1cm. 
• From the piece of Whisper White Cardstock, cut the Sending Flowers Die piece out of this like shown towards the top of the card.
• Cut a piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock to slightly smaller than the die cut white piece (this will go behind this circular opening). Use a mixture of Night of Navy and Pacific Point Inks with a sponge or makeup brush to add some colour behind where the circle will be. Adhere this sponged piece to the layer of Basic Black, and then adhere the die cut Whisper White Piece over the top of the Basic Black piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Adhere the whole piece then to the card base with your choice of adhesive.
• With a die cutting machine, cut out some of the flowers from the coordinating flower dies from Blackberry Bliss, Coastal Cabana and Gold Glimmer. Adhere these as shown, mixing up and alternating the colours. Add some Basic Rhinestones to finish these off. 
• Stamp a sentiment from the ‘Free as a Bird’ stamp set on some Basic Black cardstock in Versamark and then heat emboss in white. Die cut this out with one of the coordinating label dies. Before adhering this to the card, tie a bow with the Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle. Adhere this bow where shown with a Glue Dot. Adhere the sentiment strip to the card where shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• Add some spritzes on Wink of Stella to the card if you wish.
• Decorate the inside layers of the card if you wish to. I have used some of the leftover flower die cuts, along with some layers of Basic Black and Whisper White Cardstock.
• Enjoy!

Here’s a close up look at the finished card where you can see some of the detail.

I love that the die comes with extra dies that you can cut additional flower pieces from to add ‘pops’ of colour. I have cut these in a mixture of Coastal Cabana, Blackberry Bliss and Gold Glimmer and layered them on the top of my die cut piece and then added some Basic Rhinestones.

Finally I have embellished with some of the Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon tired in a small bow and layered behind my sentiment for some extra pizazz1

I have also added more spritzes of Clear Wink of Stella to the entire card.

Here is a look at how I have decorated the inside of my card, adding some leftover flower die cuts and a coordinating stamp from the Free as a Bird stamp set.

I love how this card ended up turning out and can’t wait to make more in a variety of colours.

My next idea is to make one that will be like a sunset!
