I love Stampin’ Up! punches because they are so quick and easy! They don’t require any additional tools, dies or machines – perfect for a beginner or a quick and simple card. There are also some really great builder punches (punches that build cute objects and animals) but it is definitely handy to have some tips for working with builder punches, so I thought since I made this fun card today using the brand new Stampin’ Up! Little Monkey bundle, I would come and share some of my tips for the builder punches with you!
TGIF ChalLENGE #TGIFC429
My card today is also using this week’s TGIF challenge sketch for #TGIFC429. I love using a great sketch as the basis for a card. I have to say this is my #1 way of getting some mojo back or getting out of a creative funk!
It’s a great road map for a creative design. I loved using this fun sketch for my design today.

TIPS FOR WORKING WITH STAMPIN’ UP! BUILDER PUNCHES

Here’s a look at just a few of the current Stampin’ Up! Builder Punches that we have available.
Aren’t they adorable? I have to say that new Trucking Along Builder Punch has been available for just a week and has been selling like hot cakes!!! WOW!

Here is a look at the very first and number one of my tips of working with builder punches.
There is not much I have to say here about the tip because my graphic really says it all!
Make a template that lines up those images! This is a hot tip! It makes it so much easier!
I used to stamp my images multiple times and play guessing games with where I needed to punch and line up each piece. This takes the guessing game out of it.
You can leave that template in your stamp case and use it time and time again!

My other tip for using Stampin’ Up! Builder Punches it to use strips of cardstock when stamping specific images from the builder punches. Don’t need all the images? Maybe in reference to the Monkey Builder Punch you just want that banana? Use a strip of cardstock and looking at the back of the builder punch I could work out which direction I needed to stamp the banana in and away I went. Stamping the banana multiple times I was able to stamp it multiple times and get the maximum out of my cardstock with no waste!
I hope that you enjoyed these couple of tips, now onto my creative card share for today…
“JUST SWINGING BY” CARD

The finished card came together relatively quickly, this is one of the reasons I love to work with the Stampin’ Up! builder punches – they are just so quick and easy!
This bundle does also require some fussy cutting, because not all the images have a coordinating die or punch. I won’t lie – I don’t mind sitting with a pair of scissors and cutting some images out, I find it quite therapeutic.
One thing I really did enjoy on this card is the colour palette!
I was thinking of the jungle and went with quite a fun colour palette of the brows and greens with a tiny pop of Sweet Sorbet on that cute little heart!
Here is a look at the fun little colour palette…
THE COLOUR COMBINATION THAT INSPIRED THIS CARD
I also used some fun dry embossing with what is probably my favourite current embossing folder, the Timber 3D embossing folder.
Something I love to do to really make dry embossing ‘Pop’ to take a Blending Brush and to lightly brush tone on tone ink over the top! It really helps to define that embossed definition.

Here is a close up of all that detail.
I took my Stampin’ blends to colour all my images from the Little Monkey stamp set and used a mixture of my brown and green tones. Although I used the Pecan Pie for the main brown tone – I absolutely love the Stampin’ Up! introduced the Natural Tones! This is handy not just for the skin tones but for mixing into lots of applications like this!
The centre panel I have used a mixture of inks including Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce and Lemon Lime Twist with a Blending Brush to get my ‘jungle tones’

I added some of the extra left over cut out elements from the card from the inside to carry through the design elements and added some blending to the inside in some Lemon Lime Twist. I also embossed an extra panel of the Pecan Pie cardstock and added some more blending with some Pecan Pie Ink.
I love how all the layering and tones in this card turned out.
I hope that you got some inspiration from my card today and were inspired to give some Stampin’ Up! Builder Punches a go, they are great for both beginner and avid crafters and I love the variety of things that you can do with them.

Until next time crafty hugs. xx
