Happy Friday!
It’s almost the weekend and time to settle in for what is hopefully a crafty weekend – or at least time for a little craft snuck in there (somewhere). I am a true believer that crafting is good for the soul.
That is why I started crafting 16 years ago, it was food for the soul and a good therapy!
Today I am here to share with you ANOTHER wedding card *wink*
They were a sought after card in the last few months with many weddings that family and friends attended and I tell you- The Last a Lifetime stamp set with this beautiful “Mr & Mrs” sentiment got it’s work out and was well worth it’s money. I am going to miss it now that it is sadly being retired!
I hope you get some inspiration from today’s card share.
Be sure to check below for a list of all the supplies I have used in today’s card share, all of which are available in my store here.
Here’s a look at the finished card.
I knew this particular card was being given to the Bride & Groom for the entire bridal party and so there needed to be plenty of room to write.
I decided because of this I wanted to make a ‘twist and pop’ card where you fold out the card and it ‘pops’ open.
There is a bit of a ‘mechanism’ to a card like this, and I find that I am a bit of a visual learner myself, so I am going to direct you to a YouTube video for those that want to see how the inner workings of a card like this is put together.
Here’s a video from the lovely Dena Rekow showing how to put one of these together.
I used the same technique and applied it to my own sizing. If you look up Stampin’ Up! twist and pop card you will come across SO many ideas using the same fun fold idea.
I have combined this using the Forever Greenery Suite of products with touches of Gold Foil, and the Fine Art Ribbon to make a beautiful and stunning wedding card!
Here’s a look at the inside of my card where you can see I have let the Designer Series Paper shine and just kept it simple with layers of Just Jade and Basic White with some basic Stamping in Soft Sea Foam and Granny Apple Green.
I also added some Forever Gold Laser Cuts for some extra foiling!
Here’s another sneak peek of the inside where you can see some of the extra detailing. I have stamped off the leaf images in Soft Sea Foam to keep them subtle enough that the bridal party could still write over the top or around it and it won’t detract from their messages.
Here’s a sneak peek of the finished card.
I really wanted this card to be special so I have added a Gold Hoop Embellishment and some of the beautiful Fine Art Ribbon. This ribbon is such a favourite of mine which it’s gorgeous rustic detailing and beautiful gold threading throughout.
I brought in the stunning Forever Gold Laser Cut pieces and some stamped Forever Greenery images which were stamped in Just Jade, Pretty Peacock and Granny Apple Green. I have die cut these out using the coordinating dies that come as part of this bundle.
A final sneak peek of the finished card.
I also added some Basic Rhinestone Jewels and spritzed Wink of Stella because you just can’t have enough sparkle and shine and it is a wedding card after all!
I think a handmade card especially at a special event like a wedding is worth the handmade touch and it will be treasured for years to come.
I did receive a picture of the bride & groom opening this card and they were thrilled.
It goes to show just how special a handmade card can be. It really is a hug with a fold in the middle!
I hope you got some inspiration from today’s post.
