Happy Tuesday everyone!
Today I am popping on in the evening which is a bit unusual for me- but I have my cup of coffee and a few quiet minutes – so I thought it might be a lovely time to come and share a fun crafty creation with you all!
Today I am sharing a fun card that I made for my niece a little while back using the lovely Robyn Cardon’s Hippo Happiness Bundle.
I am so excited because this lovely bundle is actually carrying over to our new Annual Catalogue – so we will have another whole year to still play with this fun bundle.
I have combined this fun bundle with the Stitched Rectangle Dies and the Curvy Dies – both of which are also carrying over to the new catalogue. Yippee!
Here’s a look at the finished card…
I have opted for some lovely bright colours for this card.
I wanted to create a bright and happy scene that my niece Chloe would love.
I have stamped my fun ‘unicorn’ in Magenta Madness and Flirty Flamingo for some bright pops of colour.
I then stamped the little lamb in some Smoky Slate and Basic Gray.
The lamb was perfect as my niece Chloe actually has a pet lamb (at the time) named Winter.
I also accented with some fun stamped flowers in Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather and a fun butterfly stamped in Mango Melody and Daffodil Delight.
My background is actually sponged to create a ‘sky’ and I have done this using the Blending Brushes with some Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay. Our Blending Brushes are fantastic for achieving this look.
Here’s a close up look at the finished card.
You can see I have created some ‘rolling’ hills. This was done using the Curvy Dies and some Granny Apple Green Cardstock. To achieve the ‘hills’ look you will need to die cut and then ‘flip’ the cardstock around to use the reverse side of the die cut piece. It’s a little bit of an optical illusion.
The frame was created by die cutting a stitched frame with the Rectangle Stitched Dies on some Basic Black Cardstock. I have used the negative piece as these dies create an outside stitched border also. I have adhered this to the card with some Foam Adhesive Strips.
To accent I added some ribbon and some enamel dots that you can see referenced below.
I also added a gorgeous sentiment from the ‘A Grand Kid’ stamp set which is retiring – so grab this one now if it does appeal to you!
Here’s a look at the decorated inside of the card which I have kept simple with layers of Basic White and Basic Black with a strip of Silver Foil.
I also added some Linen Thread a sentiment stamped in Gorgeous Grape from the A Grand Kid stamp set.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card share and got some inspiration.
Big crafty hugs! x
