I am sharing a new card with you today using the Stampin’ Up! Just My Type stamp set. When I saw the beautiful fun and funky colour combo set out in this week’s TGIF challenge I couldn’t help but pair it with that stamp set. I sat the ink pads out in front of me and I actually picked them up and put them direct to the paper and reminded myself of an old but favourite technique of mine – the direct to paper ink pad technique!
Have you tried this technique before? If not you definitely should! It is a lot of fun, it is bold, it is quick and easy and it is great way to make your own patterns.
See below where I will show you just how to get this effect on your own projects.
THIS WEEK’S CHALLENGE
Here is a look at this week’s TGIF challenge that I took part in. I always love joining in these challenges and I am lucky to be part of the team.
You can see this week’s TGIF challenge and join in the challenge here.
Here is a look at the finished project. WOW! Look at all that colour. Who would have thought that the combination of the Lemon Lolly and Sweet Sorbet would be that bold! At first I actually had it on a Basic White background but having it on the Basic Black really does make it POP!
Here is a step by step look at just how to create this direct to paper ink pad technique on your project…
I hope that this gave you a bit of a guide of how easy the direct to paper technique is. It’s so much fun! I love it in the blues! So easy and so quick!
I also put together a quick reel on my Instagram, you can pop over and have a look if you like. Check it out on my Instagram here.
Here is a close up of the finished project where you can see some of the elements that I have added to embellish and finish my project.
I have been a little bit (a lot addicted) to gold and anything shiny!
I LOVE the More Dazzle Specialty Paper.
It was actually featured in a Sale-a-Bration some time ago and Stampin’ Up! brought it back as a permanent product, much to my happiness. It has been going on many projects! – you can see it linked at the bottom of this post in my store.
I have added some beautiful shiny brass butterflies and some Linen Thread as well as some In Colour pearls for a bit of extra pizzazz!
Here is a look at the inside of the card, because it just wouldn’t be complete without a decorated inside.
The theory is that if you spend all that time making the outside pretty, it deserves a pretty inside!
I added replicated elements that would match the elements from the card front.
I just love how this turned out and playing with both these colours and the fun ink pad technique.
I hope that you got some inspiration from my project share today.
Be sure to go and pop over to the TGIF blog and join in this week’s challenge.
