Hello lovely blog readers and happy last day of Winter! Boy am I excited to be saying that!
We have had one of the most wet & cold winters I can remember in a very long time.
Tomorrow marks the first day of Spring here in Australia – and I am just excited for a hint of warm – although traditionally September is a cold month here in Tasmania where I live. I can only dream of warmer days and I know it’s coming!
Today also marks the last day of Sale-a-Bration – insert sad face here!
We have had two months of amazing FREE products to play with and I just had to take the opportunity to share one last project with you using this gorgeous Rings of Love Designer Series Paper which was definitely a clear favourite for me.
There is nothing better than a gorgeous Designer Series Paper!
Here is a look at my finished card.
This is called a Double Diagonal Pocket Fold Card.
I was lucky enough to teach this in a recent card making class for Kylie Bertucci’s lovely Crazy Crafter’s Team which I am lucky enough to be a member of.
This card was inspired by so many of these similar cards I have seen around by Jacqui Williams, Wendy Cranford, Patty Bennett just to name a few!
I made up a little template to show how to make this fun card. Cool thing is – you only need one piece of 8 x 12″ Designer Series Paper or cardstock! The cut and score lines are marked!
Here’s the other measurements I have used:
Card backing piece: 6 1⁄4” x 4 1⁄4”
Large Insert
Crumb Cake Layer – 8cm x 13.5cm
Basic White Layer – 7.8cm x 13.3cm
Small Insert
Crumb Cake Layer – 7cm x 11.7cm
Basic White Layer – 6.8cm x 11.5cm
Once you get a hang of how the cards go together, they are super easy!
If you get stuck – YouTube “double diagonal pocket fold card” and there are a few great tutorials.
Here is a close up look at the finished card where you can see some of the detail and embellishment.
There is actually very little stamping on my finished card. I did a lot of fussy cutting from that gorgeous Designer Series Paper! I’m a sucker for fussy cutting but I just love it!
A look at how the fun of this fun fold works with all the bits and bobs coming out of the pockets. So much fun!!!
I have added a little stamping and a fun double bow! So many different layers of interest!
Another fun layer when it opens into a card. You can actually adhere this layer shut to not have an opening card – but I just loved having more room to write and more of that beautiful Designer Series Paper to look at!
This was such a fun card to make with this beautiful Designer Series Paper!
Tonight is the last chance to earn that Designer Series Paper free with a $90 order!
